As we progress through the latter half of 2025, a series of high-tech industry exhibitions and events have been held or are scheduled to occur in China. A recent example is the 2025 China Embodied Intelligent Robot Industry Conference and Exhibition, which is set to open on Wednesday in Shanghai. The frequency of these events highlights the dynamic upgrading and transformation occurring within China's manufacturing sector and the country's economic resilience in the face of external global economic uncertainty.

Amid a slowdown in global economic momentum, China's manufacturing sector has not only avoided stagnation but has also showcased its internal vitality through a variety of exhibitions. This trend of hosting numerous exhibitions underscores the resilience of the economy, serving as a testament to its vitality and adaptability.

These high-tech industry exhibitions can be observed from several perspectives. First, the driving force behind this phenomenon is market demand. Following the conclusion of the 2025 World Robot Conference, the specialized field of embodied intelligent robots is set to welcome another professional exhibition on Wednesday. This reflects the growing demand for market transactions. Exhibitors are naturally inclined to participate if they can find business opportunities and secure orders at these events. As market demand remains robust, suppliers are keen to organize more frequent exhibitions, capitalizing on the growth potential of China's market.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, in the first half of 2025, the value added of China's high-tech manufacturing grew by 9.5 percent year-on-year, 3.1 percentage points faster than that of industrial enterprises above the designated size. Amid a complex and volatile international environment, China remains committed to high-quality development, continuously promoting the deep integration of technological and industrial innovation. The expanding scenarios and markets for high-tech products provide companies with a sustainable source of profit.

Second, China's high-tech industry is experiencing diversified growth on multiple fronts, with new technologies and products showcased at various themed exhibitions. Technological advancements in areas such as artificial intelligence and renewable energy are emerging as new growth drivers. These innovations are plentiful enough to fill numerous exhibitions, reflecting the collective progress of China's high-tech industrial chain.

As China undergoes an economic transformation and upgrading, and as its manufacturing sector climbs the global value chain, Chinese businesses are showing resilience through digitalization, diversification, and innovation. These developments not only help companies navigate a volatile external environment but also position China for a shift toward an innovation-driven economy.

Third, the development of China's high-tech industry is deeply rooted in its ongoing commitment to openness. Foreign companies have increasingly participated in expos held in China, showcasing the nation's progress in international economic cooperation. The growing appeal of China's exhibition platforms provides broad opportunities for global economic collaboration, highlighting China's openness.

The China International Supply Chain Expo, held in Beijing from July 16 to 20, featured more than 650 participating firms and organizations from 75 countries and regions. International exhibitors accounted for 35 percent of the total. The expo spotlighted China's rising position in global value chains and technological innovation in logistics and supply coordination.

The World Artificial Intelligence Conference, held in Shanghai from July 26 to 28, featured participation by more than 60 foreign-funded enterprises and Chinese-foreign joint ventures, including approximately 10 global industry leaders.

While some countries are building barriers with protectionist policies, China's expos, set against the backdrop of the nation's increasing openness, have invited global suppliers with open arms. These events provide a practical platform for exchange and cooperation between Chinese and foreign companies, offering growth opportunities for multinational tech enterprises.

Certainly, the fervor surrounding technology expos warrants a moment of reflection. The development of China's high-tech industry, while impressive, is not without its challenges. These expos serve as forums for stakeholders within the industry, as well as between suppliers and the market, to engage in dialogue and address these issues. The willingness of the industry to bring its problems into the spotlight for discussion is, in itself, a testament to its confidence in and commitment to a long-term vision.

Facing a complex international economic landscape, the resilience of China's economy is not just an abstract slogan - it is manifested in the innovative applications of high-end Chinese manufacturing and reflected in the bustling activity of numerous exhibitions. Regardless of external changes, the development of China's high-tech manufacturing industry will continue unabated.
